LoopMuse Guide

Getting songs in

LoopMuse plays audio you already have. MP3, WAV, AIFF, M4A, FLAC, and anything else iOS can open will work.

Streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify lock their audio, so those songs can't be looped (see the FAQ).

The player

Looping a section

  1. Play up to where the passage starts and tap Mark Start.
  2. Let it play to where it ends and tap Mark End. It loops from there.
  3. Fine-tune: drag the orange handles on the waveform, or tap −/+ under Start or End to nudge it a tenth of a second.
  4. Tap Exit Loop when you're done. The song keeps going from the end of the section.

The loop saves itself, so there's nothing extra to tap.

Saved loops

The saved loops for the current song sit under the controls. Tap one to jump straight back in. Long-press a loop to delete it.

Speed and pitch

Tap Practice to open the panel.

These settings stay put when you change songs, so you can run a whole set at 0.75×.

Library and Sets

Tap Library to see every song you've brought in, plus your Sets.

Picking up where you left off

Close LoopMuse and reopen it, and you're back on the same song at the same spot, still in the same set.

In the car (CarPlay)

Keep your eyes on the road. Set up the hard stuff before you drive.

On the Mac

LoopMuse runs on the Mac too, with the same library, loops, and sets. It's the easiest place to do the setup work: drag in a batch of songs, build your sets, and mark your loops with a mouse.

Syncing with iCloud

Your songs, loops, and sets follow you across iPhone, iPad, and Mac through your own iCloud account. Build a set on the Mac at home, and it's on your phone when you get to the car. If a song says it's still downloading, it came over from another device and hasn't finished yet; give it a moment and tap it again.

Background playback

Lock the phone or switch apps and the loop keeps going, so you can keep playing along.
